New Vendor: Be Blocks by Kitty Robertson Morse, Heirloom Wooden Toys

March 4, 2011

One of the coolest new products we found at Toy Fair is a new bamboo block set called Be Blocks.  They are 2” cubes, come in a set of 18 packaged in a beautiful bamboo box, and are ready to be decorated with your own personal style!  Over 100 custom stencils and 8 non-toxic markers allow you and your child to really express yourselves.

Some ideas include classic number and letter blocks, nature shapes, zig-zags and animals.  Lay the set out flat on the table and draw a picture over all of them, creating your own puzzle.  Use the letters to create a message for a special occasion.  Decorate a set while you’re on your family vacation, and use each block to represent a memory or activity.  Use a set for a baby shower or birthday party activity, so each guest can contribute to a final product that’s a lovely memento for the guest of honor.

This is both a block set and an activity that can be shared between friends, parents and children, grandparents and grandchildren, or a solitary project for a child who likes to work on her own.  I love the idea of a family working together to create something memorable and meaningful.  And bamboo is a fast-growing renewable resource so you are helping the environment as well!

Set includes 18 Be Blocks, 8 markers, 100+ stencils, and Idea Book

Those look like a lot of fun! It would be fun to have an older child help make a set for a new baby.

That’s another great idea! I think I’m going to get a set for my 16 year old and see what she comes up with – she’s the creative one in the family ;-)!
